San Diego Family Anniversary Session with Sharrell and Family

When Sharrell reached out, she shared her plan to surprise her parents for their wedding anniversary — and it was such a beautiful idea. For the first time in years, all the kids and grandkids were together under one roof to celebrate. Each sibling had traveled from different cities to gather at a cozy Airbnb in San Diego, making this reunion extra meaningful.

A Joyful Family Reunion

The energy during this session was contagious. From the moment I arrived, the house was filled with laughter, happy chaos, and so much love. We took a variety of photos — big family group shots, couple portraits, kids playing and smiling, and individual photos for each family member.

These sessions are some of my favorites because they blend celebration and connection. You could see how much joy it brought to Sharrell’s parents to have their entire family together again — generations all in one frame, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

This session was full of laughter, jokes, and playful teasing among siblings. Those in-between moments — the smiles exchanged, the bursts of laughter — are what make these family photos so special. My goal as a photographer is always to create a relaxed, natural environment, where families can simply enjoy being together while I capture the magic that unfolds.
