Carlsbad Beach Maternity Photography

When Corinna reached out about scheduling a maternity photoshoot at the beach, I couldn’t have been more excited to help her bring that vision to life. We discussed several stunning San Diego County beaches, from La Jolla to Oceanside, but ultimately decided that Carlsbad Beach would be the perfect setting for her growing family’s special moment.

Corinna’s joy was contagious — she and her husband were thrilled to be welcoming their first daughter, joining their sweet son to make a family of four. You could feel the excitement and love in every pose, smile, and gentle glance they shared throughout the session.


A Perfect Evening on the Coast


The beach was packed that evening, but you’d never know it from the photos. With a few creative angles and expert editing, I was able to make it feel like we had the entire shoreline to ourselves.


Corinna looked radiant in a flowy mauve maternity dress, perfectly complementing her husband’s coordinated white shirt and khaki pants. The colors popped beautifully against the soft black backdrop of the ocean and the glowing Carlsbad sunset.


As the sun began to sink into the horizon, the sky transformed into a masterpiece — shades of pink, purple, blue, and orange painting the perfect background for this heartfelt maternity session. It was one of those evenings where everything aligned — the light, the colors, and the emotion.

Soft, Creamy Edits for a Dreamy Feel


For this session, I edited the photos with a creamy, warm tone to enhance the softness and emotion of the moment. The gentle light, pastel sky, and tender family connection created images that feel timeless and full of love.


Beach sessions are some of my absolute favorites, especially when celebrating milestones like pregnancy and growing families. Each image becomes a piece of a story that will be cherished for generations.
